I love this book. Let me say that I've probably owned this book 4 times, but it continually disappears and I have to buy it again. I am a pediatric occupational therapist, so I do a lot of Yoga with children with disabilities.
I've used this book with kids ages 3 through 18 that have varying levels of disability. The colorful pictures truly grab children's attention. The pictures are basic enough that children can look at the picture and attempt to imitate the pose. The yoga is 'watered down' enough that I can adapt these poses to most any child, not only those with special needs. My own daughter loves to look at this book with me!
You do not need a high knowledge base about Yoga to make this book effective and practical. I've purchased many other kids yoga activities, and this is the one that I use daily in my professional practice.

As soon as I heard this book was available, I ordered a copy and read it. I loved the writing, the descriptions and explanations. The writer's voice is so clear and calming. Reading the book is like listening to a loving yoga teacher. I showed it to the Yoga for Wise Women class I teach and everyone commented how appealing the book was as well. This is an excellent book to guide women in mid-life and beyond in yoga practices that will support their health and well-being.

Baby Om: Yoga for Mothers and Babies Review

Baby Om: Yoga for Mothers and Babies

I loved this book for postpartum yoga - it has a special section for cesarean moms, which was the reason I bought it. It has series of gradually increasing challenge, which I also like. However, I found it WAY too hard to incorporate my baby at first. Having a c section, it was hard enough to get in and out of the poses. Also, my newbron needs lots of attention and its hard to relax and focus on myself. Maybe this will change with time. Also, in terms of the baby interactions segments of each series, Baby Om was a little demanding of its babies - these sections included a full body massage and several exercise movements all in one sequence, and encouraged the mom to "keep trying" when baby resisted - my baby did not like this. I prefer Itsy Bitsy Yoga for baby yoga, as it gives very useful tips (such as going slow, stopping if baby is unhappy, etc) and offers different poses based on small developmental steps.A great book for moms, especially c section moms, but not the best for baby in my opinion.

Itsy Bitsy Yoga for Toddlers and Preschoolers: 8-Minute Routines to Help Your Child Grow Smarter, Be Happier, and Behave Better Review

Itsy Bitsy Yoga for Toddlers and Preschoolers: 8-Minute Routines to Help Your Child Grow Smarter, Be Happier, and Behave Better

This is a great book with really creative ideas to do with those 18 mo - 3 yr olds. I was disappointed that these were not really challenging enough for the 3 1/2 to PreK 5 year olds, since the book said Toddlers AND Preschoolers. As a caregiver I tried a few of these out with some 4 year olds and it didn't really hold their attention, even when using the suggested challenges in the "Yogi Wogi" section. For the 2 year olds however it was right on, and good fun. If the author came out with a book for the older Preschool student I think I would give it a try.

Itsy Bitsy Yoga: Poses to Help Your Baby Sleep Longer, Digest Better, and Grow Stronger Review

Itsy Bitsy Yoga: Poses to Help Your Baby Sleep Longer, Digest Better, and Grow Stronger
Average Reviews:

I love this book. I started using it when my baby was 4 weeks old. After trying to do "mommy baby" yoga (using Baby Om) I decided it was much easier to do yoga with my baby separately from my own practice, though there is some overlap. Realistically, you have to stop a million times usually to wipe spit up, nurse, burp, etc, and for me it worked better to have all my attention on my baby. This book gives simple exercises, and great tips to make the experience enjoyable for baby. My baby has gotten more and more used to it the more we do it, and she is very calm, relaxed and peaceful when we do it now. I also like this book because it gives new exercises based on lots of developmental steps (head holding, almost sitting, etc) instead of just yoga for a baby - we all know that a 4 week old is much different from a 4 month old! I highly recommend this and plan to use it until my baby is 2!
