I read this novella with some trepidation as it seems to me a lot of the so-called gay romances don't represent reality; some are just too fluffy and pink. Tristram La Roche has hit the mark with this and I find it hard to imagine that it is a first work. The characters are true to life and I found myself rooting for Mark, the main character, from the start. I think a lot of us have known people like him. This short 'coming out' story has just the right balance of animal lust and love to make it a winner with male and female readers. I'll be buying future works from this author.
